The Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) was probably my favorite part of Vienna. I’m not a religious person, but I really liked this church. I just could not stop staring at it. It was just so grand and majestic.

I was expecting to climb some steps to get a view from the top, like most other churches in Europe that I’ve been to. But to my delight, there was an elevator. Granted, there was an angry man who operated the lift, but I was still glad, nonetheless. Entry to the church is included in your Vienna pass, but the ride up is not. Five euros is a small price to pay for the views up there. You get views of the city, but you also get to see all the details of the tile work on the roof.

The roof consists of 230,000 tiles

Fun fact: the famous Austrian-born composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was married here.
